We all have a child inside who wants to gorge on a cup full of ice cream, play football in the fields and sit back and watch the funniest cartoon on TV. That child will be happy to know that one of the most adorable children’s book characters, Noddy is coming to town for a live show!
Hindustan Times’ Fever Entertainment is bringing to town Noddy in Toyland, a theatrical production by noted UK-based group, Premier Production. The performance will see stage actors bring alive the 63-year-old series for the first time in India, beyond books, television and DVDs.
"We have all seen Noddy in our childhood days on TV and have read noddy comics, but this is a totally different experience. The best part is that it's not only for kids but young parents as well," says Harshad Jain, business head, Radio and Entertainment, HT Media.
The hour-and-a-half-long English production will see eight actors dressed in colourful costumes with huge masks. The show involves a lot of interactivity, where the actors would make spectators dance and sing.
"We have always believed in doings things differently and Noddy in Toyland is a new innovation in its genre. We aim to provide a platform where families can be part of a world class entertainment experience — the first of its kind in India," says Jain. Starting July 18, the show will run for five days in Delhi at Siri Fort Auditorium and will see 12 performances. The storyline revolves around Noddy and his friends Big Ears, Tessie Bear, Bumpy Dog and the Tubby Bears.
